What a great time we had celebrating our country’s birthday at our Fourth of July celebration at Arrowhead Boys Ranch in Normandy, TN. The weather was great and we were so excited to have so many families come participate in our celebration — we were pleasantly surprised to have 375 people join us. The community really rallied around us and our mission to help support the boys ranch and those families that benefit from our program. We can’t thank the community enough for their support by coming out and enjoying an evening on the ranch with our team.
The days leading up to the event we had a great outpouring of support. With the uncertainty of what’s going on in our world today with COVID-19 and social gatherings we weren’t sure what to expect, BUT we actually had to shut down online ticket sales before the event so we wouldn’t run out of food! Our event was a success in many ways and especially that we were able to gather as a community of neighbors, friends and families while social distancing and doing our part to keep each other safe. Social distancing, mask wearing and extra precautions due to the pandemic did not slow down the fun — everyone had a great time!
It was a beautiful picture on the ranch in Normandy to see families spread across blankets enjoying music, food and fireworks. As the sky began to darken the excitement was high in anticipation for the booms of the fireworks that were sure to begin soon. Our 30-minute booming fireworks display lit up the night sky on the Duck River and let everyone know just how much we love our county!
In addition to a big thanks to our community that supported us we want to show our gratitude to our sponsors, vendors and volunteers as well! Those amazing people include:
- Chase Clanton and the Vintage Vibes
- Normandy Volunteer Fire Department
- Normandy Police Department
- Dipping Dots
- Fireworks donated by Kyle & Jeff Wohlgemuth & Jeff Sweeney
- Hot Dogs and Buns donated by Piggly Wiggly, Shelbyville
- Desserts donated by Kroger, Tullahoma
A special thanks to all of our loyal volunteers!
The Proceeds from the fundraiser will be going directly to expenses such as housing, counseling, food, health care, transportation and activities for the boys at Arrowhead Ranch. All of the support from this event contributes to helping us achieve our goal of instilling hope and a sense of purpose into the boys at the ranch as they grow into young men. We will have several other opportunities in the near and distant future to support the Arrowhead Boys Ranch, follow us on Facebook @arrowheadboysranch for more information and to stay up to date!
